On Friday 2nd October the Multiplex ‘Silver Sunday’ team were out in force. Venturing in the rain to deliver teatime hampers to the elderly, who are currently shielding due to COVID-19.

Silver Sunday is a national day to celebrate older people, build connections and tackle loneliness. It is marked by Westminster with a live event, however, this year it had to be run virtually for the first time. When Multiplex heard the council was in need of support, we raised £1,650 in 2 weeks to fill hampers, and assembled a team of 10 to deliver them. This cause united volunteers from the Westminster projects Chelsea Barracks Phase 4, The Broadway & The Marble Arch Place Projects. It was a great effort that brought joy to those in isolation, supported the council’s community initiative and celebrated Silver Sunday.

Special thanks to Oli Jones, Darren Goldstone, Luciana Campos, Andrea Buckle, Jamie Park (Keltbray) and Priscilla Britton for volunteering their time and Gratte Brothers, Szerelmey, Lyndon SGB, CMF, ASSA ABLOY, Schneider Electric and Northacre for the generous cash donations.
